You can purchase creamy, yellow Walla Walla Sweets from mid-June through August. Look for a round shape, elongated neck, and dry, paper-thin skin.
 
Walla Walla sweets have a higher water content than most onions and therefor have a shorter shelf life. If kept separate in a cool, ventilated location, these sweets can be stored for three to six weeks.
